We are recruiting for a Production Manager, a candidate who has experience managing the production operations of a food production facility with a multiple and varied prestigious product range. As part of this role you will be responsible for the following: Effectively managing teams to ensure safe working, food safety, integrity, legality and quality are always maintained. Taking ownership for planning and organisation of the team to achieve efficient completion of plans whilst optimising outputs and minimising waste. Effectively communicating with all departments to ensure all orders / products are produced and prepared to the required safety, quality, quantity and cost to meet customer deliveries on time. Effectively monitoring productivity rates and initiating projects to improve efficiency and quality, promoting continuous improvement. Ensuring supervisors have liaised with relevant departments to ensure all equipment and materials are available in sufficient quantities/correct time to ensure all processes start on time and operate efficiently. In liaison with the Operations Manager, leading engineering and process improvement initiatives across the plant and all equipment to improve safety, quality, efficiency, reduce operating costs, minimise unplanned down time whilst identifying opportunities via projects or other methods deemed relevant. Ensuring all maintenance (e.g. plant, equipment) is carried out in accordance with the companies IMS (Integrated Management Systems; includes Food Safety, Health & Safety etc.), including records and systems. Ensuring relevant systems are maintained for tracking work orders, maintenance history etc. Ensuring effective communication between engineers and with manufacturing, planning and technical to ensure all required work is completed, including deep cleans, repairs etc. Preparing, tracking and analysing any relevant information relating to the department including KPI reports, downtimes, compliance, maintenance cost etc. Ensuring department is adequately trained, equipped and motivated and employee performance reviews based on their job descriptions are conducted as required. Supporting in the recruitment of personnel for the department. Ensuring the correct completion of any daily, weekly and monthly reports / meetings and paperwork / data collation required. Continuously reviewing practices and procedures to ensure efficient and effective practices. You must be a strong user of Excel and have excellent organisational, computer and administrative skills with ability to multi-task and remain calm in a pressurised environment. This is a very hands-on role where you will be working closely with the shop floor and within the production facility. This role is based in Dorchester, is a permanent position as is working Monday – Friday. You must be flexible to start between 6.00 – 7.00am depending on the daily production plan
