The role The Director of Sales is responsible for leading proactive sales efforts for the hotel by developing and executing strategic sales plans to maximise revenue opportunities across various local and national avenues. This role involves identifying, securing, and maintaining revenue-generating business, leveraging a prosperous network and excellent contacts. The Director of Sales will spearhead proactive sales dialogue, efficiently securing business in line with annual targets and commercial strategies. Responsibilities also include overseeing sales activity for all hotel revenue streams and managing the on-property Meeting and Events Sales team. This role reports into the Cluster General Manager. This role is based at the recently rebranded voco Manchester - City Centre, however travel will be required. Key responsibilities : Understand hotel budget strategy and business mix Develop and deliver strategic business plans aligned with hotel strategy Manage corporate accounts to grow revenue and market share Analyse market data to penetrate given market segment Conduct sales calls, presentations, and account assessments for revenue growth Collaborate with marketing team on sales campaigns and promotions Maintain accurate account information and align rate plans with revenue team Attend weekly strategy meetings and analyse client-specific data Drive key relationships with KAD/KAMs for RFPs participation Maintain direct communication with key and strategically important clients Entertain executives and secure future revenue opportunities for the hotel Organise and attend familiarisation trips and client site inspections Ensure we are always challenging the status quo and look at new ways to deliver the voco ethos of being reliably different Full details of the role will be discussed with the shortlisted candidates. What you’ll bring to the team: To be considered for this role you’ll have a demonstrable track record in Business Development and Account Management with ability to grow market share and account penetration as well as incrementally. You will be proactive and results-driven with ability to develop solution proposals that address customer issues and gain a competitive advantage. Highly motivated and collaborative to identify new business opportunities. Familiar with market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to stay ahead of the curve and drive innovation. Previous experience in leading and developing sales operations in a hotel environment is essential for this role.
