What is the role?
There are very few service apprenticeships in the motor industry and the BMW Programme is regarded as being the leader in delivering the ultimate customer experience. Your role will be focused on dealing with customers who have a varied range of needs and demands. As a result, you will need to have interpersonal skills and be able to build rapport, as well as a desire to provide the highest level of customer service. This combined with organisational and communication skills will enable you to deliver outstanding customer service, representing the high standards and reputation of the BMW/MINI brand.
Role responsibilities – including but not limited to:
1. Working face to face with customers in the business.
2. Estimating time and costs associated with vehicle services and repairs.
3. Handling and responding to customer complaints.
4. Interpreting initial customer concerns and liaising with the vehicle technicians.
5. Liaising with customers and keeping them updated on any additional work that may be required.
6. Tracking customer vehicles through the workshop during service and repair.
7. Advising customers on how to solve problems with their vehicles.
Who you need to be?
To succeed in this role, you will be highly passionate about our brand, our standards and our vision. You must have confident and professional communication skills. Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, whilst recognising individual responsibility and also have strong teamwork skills to contribute to the performance and success of the department. You will have a passion for customer service, a process-oriented approach and be well-presented. Maintaining thorough product knowledge and updating your knowledge through manufacturer-led training is essential. An interest in the automotive industry is required, along with a full UK Driving Licence. We will also expect you to be a team player who is willing to go the extra mile to keep our customers happy.
Your experience:
Applicants are required to have, or predicted to obtain, GCSE or functional skills level 2 in the following subjects: English, Maths, and one other subject.
Training:
All trainees will attend the BMW Group Academy UK for their off-the-job training. This training will have a strong focus on the retail environment and high customer service expectations, as well as specific service advisor training. On successful completion of the training, you will be an accredited service advisor.
