Job Description
Mō te tūnga | About the role
As a Communications Advisor, you'll play a key role in crafting and delivering impactful messages to our stakeholders, fostering environmental awareness and supporting our community engagement efforts.
A major focus of this role is delivering operational marketing and communications to support growth in use of the region’s public bus services. The role will also support communications outcomes in other areas of the Council’s business.
Your key responsibilities include:
1. Bringing our public transport marketing strategy to life through creative and impactful marketing and communication campaigns.
2. Using your communication superpowers to craft compelling content that captivates audiences across print, digital and social media.
3. Collaborating with brilliant colleagues across the organisation to ensure our messaging is consistent and our brand voice shines through.
4. Creating content that supports delivery of the organisation’s goals (outside of the public transport portfolio).
This position is fixed term until June 2026.
To be a good fit for this role, you will be a skilled communicator with proven experience in developing and implementing communication and marketing plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with the ability to create content for diverse audiences and channels.
You will be a team player who excels at working collaboratively and who thrives in a fast-paced working environment where no two days are the same.

The starting remuneration range for this role is $80,996 - $95,289 per annum (including KiwiSaver).
