Our client has been in operation for over thirty years and has grown to be one of the UK’s leading specialist producers of their particular line of products.
Your New Role
As a maintenance electrician, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance on site. A key element of this role is to work as part of a team to ensure that any planned or unplanned electrical work on equipment is carried out.
Your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Maintain and update digital maintenance records on a computerised Maintenance Management System (Work pal).
2. Actively work on unplanned breakdowns on electrical equipment/systems.
3. Work on reducing the number of breakdowns, especially with common faults.
4. Ensure all PPMs for all machines are adhered to in a timely manner.
5. Ensure all equipment is maintained to a safe standard and complies with current legislation.
6. Ensure all relevant and appropriate risk assessments are carried out, implemented, and reviewed in a timely manner, and that your team is implementing dynamic risk assessments in line with the H&S policy.
What You'll Need To Succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
1. A minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
2. A good understanding of 3 phase, switchgear, panel wiring, PLCs, fault finding, VSDs, electrical drawings, and installation.
3. Excellent knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
4. Self-motivated and highly organised.
5. Excellent communication skills.
Preference will be given to applicants with:
1. PAT Testing Qualification.
2. Counterbalance Forklift licence.
3. A good understanding of statutory fixed wire testing.
4. An understanding of compressed air systems, steam systems, and hydraulics.
5. Prior experience of working in the food industry.
What You'll Get In Return
For working a desirable shift pattern of Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:30, you will earn an hourly rate of £18. An element of on-call work may also be required on a rota basis.
