The H&S lead will manage, contribute and drive forward the H&S agenda for the Trust. The purpose of the role is to assist all Heads of School in their duty to ensure that each school meets its educational aims, through oversight of H&S.
The role includes:
1. Driving forward the H&S agenda across the Trust, taking a pro-active approach to reducing the risk.
2. Reporting on H&S performances across all Trust schools including by routine H&S reviews.
3. Providing support to the Heads of School & H&S leads on matters relating to H&S resources, premises and operations.
4. Working with central team colleagues to develop and implement Health and Safety policy, procedures and training, ensuring compliance across Trust.
5. Holding the role of Trust Competent person.
6. Leading and managing the Trust’s online health and Safety management (Smartlog) to maximise its impact and value.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Proven Health and Safety delivery experience within a large multi-sited organisation with varying ages of Estate.
2. A ‘real world’ and pragmatic approach.
3. Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma standard or equivalent and be a Chartered Member of IOSH to enable the post holder to provide professional, practical advice to support operational specialists.
4. In-depth and comprehensive knowledge of U.K. and E.C. Health and Safety legislation.
5. Experience in risk assessment procedures and implementing safety audits, inspections and accident prevention practices.
6. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with all stakeholders.
7. IT/Computer skills are required in order to produce data.
