We’re open to flexible working arrangements, if you’re interested in part time, we would be able to accomdate a 3 or 4-day workweek alongside a quiet 1-in-4 out-of-hours rota. Interested in broadening your skills? We can support you in combining small animal work with a variety of farm duties in a friendly and supportive environment. What We’re Looking For: Ideally, we are seeking a vet with some experience who is keen to take a proactive role in driving the farm side of our practice. About Our Practice: Our farm practice cares for approximately 10,000 cattle and 30,000 breeding ewes on the island. Many of our clients are transitioning to more sustainable farming practices, and we believe vets play a crucial role in empowering and supporting these changes. We regularly host client meetings on topics like integrated parasite management, antimicrobial stewardship, and heifer selection. We even organize trips to progressive mainland farms to help our clients bring new ideas back home. With a 48-month TB testing parish and the ongoing training of an ATT, you’ll spend less time on routine testing and more on clinical work. Out-of-hours duties are light, with a 1-in-4 rota that ensures a balanced workload. Our practice also treats a variety of species, including goats, camelids, pigs, and backyard chickens. If you have a particular interest in more exotic species like raptors or monkeys, we’re happy to support that passion—though there’s no pressure if you prefer to focus on farm animals. Why Join Us?
