Dental Therapist/Hygienist Educator Lead
Part time 2 days a week/flexible
This post will be remote working with some requirement to travel across Suffolk and North East Essex.

Suffolk and North East Essex Training Hub are seeking a Dental Therapist/Hygienist educator lead to join the team and help us make Suffolk and North East Essex the place to train and work as an NHS Dental professional. This is a unique opportunity to develop and deliver education, training, and workforce initiatives that will shape the dental workforce of today and tomorrow.
Main duties of the job:
1. To influence and lead relevant work streams to expand learner placements for dental therapy students across Suffolk and North East Essex.
2. To influence and lead an expansion of dental practices to become learning organisations.
3. To lead and develop initiatives to support the recruitment and retention of dental professionals making Suffolk and North East Essex a preferred location to train and work.
4. To influence and lead relevant work streams to engage with dental professionals on the benefits of developing multi-professional teams to deliver patient care.
5. To work collaboratively with Training Hub and system colleagues to develop and deliver new patient services that will enable Suffolk and North East Essex to deliver Future Shift.
6. To actively promote the SNEE Training Hub and engage the GP Workforce in its development.

Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential:
Qualified dental Therapist/Hygienist registered with General Dental Council.
Knowledge of dental therapy training programmes and HEI delivery models.
Experience of being an Educator.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
Knowledge of current workforce challenges in dentistry.
Desirable:
Knowledge of current NHS Quality Improvement Methodology.
Understanding of HEI programmes and placement challenges.
Knowledge and experience of working with HEIs and education providers.
Knowledge and experience of developing and expanding capacity of high-quality clinical learning placements.
