Main duties of the job
To provide efficient clerical and administration support within the Clinical Coding Team, ensuring effective communication between teams and ward areas.

Job responsibilities
* Work in close co-operation with the Clinical Coders and other members of the department in order to meet standards of care.
* Retrieve case notes from the wards and ensures that all relevant information is available in relation to clinical coding.
* Dispatch case notes to other departments / health records as appropriate.
* Use of Lorenzo system.
* Run reports from PAS or reporting services and distribute to relevant people.
* Track case notes in and out of the office.
* Answer telephone queries and act on and pass on to relevant person.
* Liaise with other members of staff outside the department.
* Act as first point of contact for visitors to the office.
* Helping with Data Quality administration and inputting data.
* Cover duties of other members within the department in their absence as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualification(s) and Professional Training
* Good standard of Education
* GCSE in English Language or Equivalent
Experience and Knowledge
* Evidence of ability to prioritise workload including working under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
* Administration experience within an NHS environment.
* Dealing with members of the general public.
Skills and Abilities
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Able to respond professionally.
