Digital Services and Compliance Specialist

Summary
The Digital Services and Compliance Specialist will design, implement, and manage intranet solutions and integrated systems for multi-site public sector organizations. The role requires ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines, such as GDPR, while delivering secure, user-focused digital services. The specialist will also maintain robust reporting and management systems, backed by expertise in UX design and information governance (IG) or IT security practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Build, host, manage, and edit intranet solutions tailored for multi-site public sector organizations.
* Integrate internal and external systems and applications into a platform accessible on various devices without reliance on existing solutions or external support resources.
* Ensure all digital services adhere to relevant public sector guidelines, laws, and regulations, including GDPR compliance.
* Develop user-centered designs (UX) to enhance the usability and accessibility of digital platforms.
* Maintain a robust management and reporting system to track and report on system performance and compliance.
* Implement and oversee a GDPR compliance plan, ensuring data protection and privacy.
* Conduct regular IG training or IT security training to maintain organizational awareness and compliance.
* Register and maintain compliance with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
* Monitor and adapt solutions to meet evolving public sector requirements and stakeholder needs.
* Create documentation, including compliance reports, user manuals, and operational guides.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least 2 years of experience in building, hosting, managing, and editing intranet solutions for multi-site public sector organizations.
* At least 2 years of experience in integrating internal and external systems and applications into multi-device platforms.
* Strong understanding of public sector regulations and guidelines for digital services, including GDPR, accessibility standards, and data protection laws.
* At least 2 years of expertise in user experience (UX) design for web-based platforms.
* Evidence of maintaining a robust management and reporting system.
* Information Governance (IG) training or IT security certification.
* Proven ability to develop and implement GDPR compliance plans.
* Registered with the ICO or demonstrable experience in maintaining such registration.
