About the Role
This is a varied real estate development position where you will work alongside some of the most prominent names in the housebuilding sector as well as specialized developers. Your responsibilities will be diverse and will include:
* Handling complex and large-scale land acquisitions for household names across England and Wales
* Drafting and negotiating collaboration agreements between developers
* Managing disposals of serviced parcels to Housing Associations and other developers
* Structuring funding arrangements
* Advising on strategic land options
* Contributing to urban regeneration projects
The Team
Our client's Residential Development team exclusively partners with housebuilders, including all of the UK's top 10 housebuilders and 18 of the top 20. With over 200 specialists, it is the largest residential development team in the UK, providing a complete acquisition-to-disposal service.
The team works with national and regional housebuilders, promoters, and institutional landowners on residential developments of up to 6,500 new homes. The Land Team handles large-scale development matters such as development agreements, conditional contracts, options, corporate and contractual joint ventures, and collaboration agreements.
In addition, our client supports housebuilders with strategic land projects, offering access to the UK's largest plot team, allowing you to focus exclusively on land acquisition and development. You will also benefit from comprehensive support from specialized Litigation, Planning, and Construction teams to deliver a full-service offering to clients.
The Birmingham team is led by a group of highly experienced and Legal 500 ranked professionals with specialist housebuilder development expertise, providing a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders and advance your career in this market-leading environment.
The Person
Our client is seeking to recruit an Associate and/or Senior Associate with at least 2+ years post-qualification experience. While experience working with housebuilder clients is preferred, applications from skilled commercial development lawyers looking to specialize in residential work are also welcome.
