This role sits within the Production team at Autolus where there is a shared mission of manufacturing and delivering Autologous products to our patients. Please note that this is a shift based role working across Sunday to Wednesday / Wednesday to Saturday. (Bi-weekly shift rotation between early - 6AM - 345PM and lates 1215PM -10PM. We are seeking dedicated and proactive team members to join our production team in a GMP-compliant environment. As an Operator II, you will demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in producing high-quality cell-based products. The role encompasses technical expertise, process improvement, leadership responsibilities, and collaborative teamwork to ensure seamless production operations and adherence to regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Core Duties: Execute production processes and operate associated equipment in compliance with GMP and GDP standards. Complete documentation timely and accurately, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct isolator hydrogen peroxide vapor gassing, sterile room maintenance, clean room environmental monitoring (EM), and particulate cleaning and disinfection. Perform raw material transfers, material receipt, and drug product shipments. Engage in data entry and documentation archiving with precision. Technical Competencies (65% Focus on Production Activities): Set up cell processors for cell culture activities, including sampling, counting, washing, activation, feeding, and harvesting. Perform cell culture magnetic enrichment and depletion (MACS) and drug product visual inspections. Conduct aseptic manipulations in Grade A environments, maintaining associated broth qualifications. Manage environmental monitoring systems (EMS) and execute timely batch reviews. Participate in non-standard or first-time product manufacture under supervision. Continuous Improvement (35% Focus on Enhancements): Troubleshoot daily operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement. Update and amend safety and process risk assessments, SOPs, and SWIs to support controlled improvement cycles. Author new SOPs and SWIs to facilitate operational enhancements. Leadership Responsibilities: Drive operational deviations, process risk assessments, and change controls. Lead the development and implementation of solutions using process knowledge and problem-solving tools. Mentor and support the development of junior team members, providing training and guidance. Team Collaboration: Actively support a culture of accountability by owning personal development and training plans. Foster effective communication with colleagues across functions to ensure smooth production workflows. Promote and participate in root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement (CI) activities.
