Job summary Safeguarding Children Practitioner The Band 6 Safeguarding Children Practitioner will provide expert advice and support to staff in maternity, paediatric, and emergency departments at Buckland Hospital, Dover. The role involves safeguarding supervision, attending multi-agency meetings, and supporting case management. This position requires a qualified nurse or midwife with a passion for safeguarding and protecting vulnerable children. Main duties of the job Provide safeguarding advice and supervision to staff within maternity, paediatric, and emergency departments. Attend and represent EKHUFT at Child Protection Conferences, Child in Need meetings, Strategy Discussions, and Child Death procedures. Manage individual safeguarding casework and chair health meetings. Deliver bespoke and standard safeguarding training to staff, promoting a culture of safeguarding within the Trust. Communicate complex information to staff, professionals, families, and carers, while supporting emotional well-being after distressing incidents.
