We pride ourselves on leading for new, innovative and sustainable products and solutions, both for today and for a new era Job Purpose: This is a pivotal role in the leadership and execution of the Ibstock sales strategy, the successful applicant will be required to lead and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the wider commercial business and operational areas. The core purpose is to create and drive the Stone business (Walling Stone and Cast Stone) sales strategy across the region. The candidate will be required to produce and deliver strategic growth plans for national and regional customers. The role holds an influential part in the implementation of an integrated cross selling organisational structure and will play a significant role in maximising the performance of the whole commercial team. In order to be successful the applicant will be able to identify what is needed to drive business success and hold internal influence in order to implement change effectively. Key functions of the role include: the need to analyse, identify and quantify sales opportunities across a range of products, craft and implement agreed joint business plans which are supportive of Ibstock’s stone commercial strategy and work collaboratively with wider business functions to ensure that all areas are aligned and targets achieved. The role will only be suitable to a candidate who has an entrepreneurial broad-spectrum leadership approach, is very commercially astute and has a demonstrable background of building powerful customer relationships. Key Accountabilities Achieve sales and profit levels in line with budget targets across specified categories and customer portfolio, whilst ensuring first class standard of operations – these will include some of our most significant trading partners on a national basis. Devise and drive the implementation of the commercial strategy whilst delivering against individual PBO’s and supporting the wider sales teams. Ownership and accountability from customer through to production and service functions in order to identify and implement change where needed and to drive efficiency. Build and maintain strong and supportive customer relationships across the accounts at all relevant levels. Demonstrate commercial excellence with all allocated customers to ensure that account profitability is maximised. Lead change throughout the area of responsibility to deliver key performance measures in line with group expectations. Support, develop and be influential within the leadership team leading by example and driving change. Match customer needs and Ibstock Concretes product plans to deliver the profit, market share growth and volumes targets. Develop strong ties with the leadership teams across the business and support and co-ordinate with the other functional areas of the company. Identify areas of new business within existing customers and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales or service levels. Collaborate with wider sales team to identify and grow opportunities within national accounts. Drive Ibstock specification from pre planning through to order Carry out continuous reviews of product (range rationalisation and NPD) Carry out category training and development for the external and internal commercial team Facilitate periodic research into customer segmentation, competitor analysis and market trends Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bottom line orientated whilst steadfastly pushes self and others for results, achieving in agreed timelines.
