The City of York Council is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to support the management of change to council buildings.
The role:
* Working in a historic City with a varied portfolio of buildings.
* Leading and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Undertaking Building Surveys, Dilapidation and Condition Surveys.
* Developing and managing projects from inception to building completion.
* Liaising with building control and planning.
* Submission of planning and building regulation applications.
* Preparation of tender documents, Contract Administration, and Health and Safety information.
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Demonstrated positive proactive approach to the role, committed to delivering customer service excellence.
* Experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry.
* Capable of running/managing own projects, leading a team, and working within a team on larger projects.
Must have experience in:
* A similar role.
* Interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level.
* Detailed understanding of building regulations, legislation, and standards.
* Knowledge of H&S, listed buildings, and party wall legislation within an estates built environment.
Qualifications:
* An accredited building surveying qualification.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
