Care Assistant Care and Support - Etive House Care Home
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Etive House Care Home. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.
About the Role
* Salary: £13.00 per hour
* Contract: Full-time and part-time available
* Shift Type: Days & nights
* Contracted Hours: 22-44 hours per week
We offer small group living accommodation for up to 62-residents in the beautiful village of Benderloch by Oban. Our home is committed to delivering an excellent standard of care, and we are looking for individuals who share our values and passion for caring for the elderly.
Your Responsibilities
1. Empower Independence: Assist residents with their daily routines, from getting dressed to staying active, while encouraging them to make positive choices and remain as independent as possible.
2. Personalized Care: Follow and support each resident's personalized care plan, providing hands-on help and thoughtful attention to their individual needs.
3. Health and Wellbeing: Keep a close eye on residents' health, communicating any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and helping with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
4. Champion Dignity: Uphold the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
5. Social Support: Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
6. Safety and Comfort: Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
7. Nutritional Support: Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
8. Spread Smiles: Above all, bring joy to our residents' lives and make them smile every day.
About You
* Qualifications: SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care preferred.
* Experience: Ideally, you have at least 6 months of experience as a Care Assistant, but we welcome those with a passion for care and transferable skills.
* Passion: You're genuinely interested in caring for the elderly and committed to delivering excellent service.
