Hillmorton High School invites applications for an enthusiastic, skilled and innovative guidance counsellor to join our Wellbeing and Pastoral Care Team. The start date for this position is 27 January 2025.
Supporting around 1,300 students from Y7-13, you'll be more than just a counsellor; you'll play a key role in a school that's all about connection, belonging, and growth. At Hillmorton High School, we take pride in nurturing every student's potential in a community that feels like a whānau.
Key responsibilities:
* Offer individual and group counselling that fosters resilience and personal growth.
* Work collaboratively with staff to create a nurturing environment that supports student wellbeing.
* Engage with students, staff, whānau, and community agencies to build strong, meaningful connections.
* Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote mental health and wellbeing.
Our ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with current NZ teaching registration; however, other counsellors will be considered. If you are ready to join a school that's all about community, connection, and nurturing young minds, we would love to hear from you.
