About our Private Tax role:
Our Private Tax team is expanding and we’re looking for Managers and Senior Managers to join our vast community of solvers. We are trusted business advisors who support private and family businesses and their owners by providing specialist tax and general advice throughout the entire business lifecycle. We provide advice to optimally structure the ownership of businesses and private investments, help our clients grow their business and wealth, and work closely with them to ensure a plan is in place either for the next generation or to exit the business.
You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:
1. Providing advice to high-net-worth individuals, families, businesses and their owners on a broad range of technical tax topics including Division 7A, complex trust distribution and capital management strategies, capital gains tax, tax consolidation, restructures, company and trust losses, tax residency, thin capitalisation rules and controlled foreign company regimes.
2. Providing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnerships and individuals.
3. Assisting clients with accounting and tax compliance services such as special purpose financial statements, income tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, annual withholding statements and other ATO compliance obligations.
4. Preparing calculations in respect of income tax consolidation, AASB12 tax effect accounting and thin capitalisation.
5. Assisting clients with complex transactions, including assisting with pre-transaction restructuring, tax due diligence and capital gains tax consequences.
6. Preparing submissions to the ATO in respect of private binding rulings, voluntary disclosures, responses to ATO reviews and audits.
7. Providing family advisory services including succession and estate planning.
8. Liaising with the ATO in relation to Top 500, Next 5000 and Top 1000 programs.
9. Applying your tax knowledge and experience to clients across all sectors of the Australian economy.
10. Managing a client portfolio and building relationships with your clients.
In our Private tax team, your impact will be seen by:
1. Leveraging your extensive experience in tax or business services.
2. Being CA/CPA qualified.
3. Holding relevant qualifications in taxation, accounting, or a related field.
4. You will have proven experience in tax management, with a strong understanding of private tax and accounting concepts.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
8. A proactive and client-focused approach.
