Job Description As the Lead Process Control and Automation Systems Engineer, you will become a member of a multi-disciplinary team where you will oversee the entire project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, installation, and commissioning of industry automation systems. You will play a crucial role in delivering cutting edge solutions on a global scale. In this role you will focus on: - Specifying, designing, and documenting automation systems for a diverse range of processes and technologies throughout the project lifecycle. - Designing and developing DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for power and automation projects, including the complete design of system architectures, DCS PLC software, HMI SCADA software, and DCS hardware. - Verifying, validating, and testing automation systems. - Ensuring that automation solutions comply with company policies, health and safety standards, legal regulations, and cybersecurity requirements. - Coordinating, planning, leading, and executing projects to meet on-time delivery, cost, and quality targets. - Providing technical support on designed products to internal teams and customers. We are looking for a committed and professional individual with: - A relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment. - Proven experience of PLC programming (IEC 61131-3, Function block, Ladder logic, Structured text, etc.) - Sound knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems programming (iFIX, Cimplicity, Proficy, InTouch, WinCC, etc.) - Familiarity with hardware design principles (hardware specification, Bill of Materials, procurement, CAD drawings, hardware build, quality control and hardware testing). - Practical knowledge of industrial communication protocols, e.g. ICE61850, DNP3, IEC104, TCP/IP, OPCUA/OPC, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus (RTU/TCP/UDP), etc. - Excellent customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving abilities. What will make you stand out: - Proven experience in industrial manufacturing processes (rolling mills, process lines, plate mills, power plants, etc.). - Knowledge of power generation and grid stability systems. - Knowledge/awareness of Operational Technology (OT) cyber security. - Chartered Engineer status or working towards achieving it. - Openness for short term travel to support commissioning activities domestically and overseas.
