Salary: £39,800 - £47,126 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Contract type: 1 x permanent full-time role and 1 x 6 month fixed-term full-time role. There may also be other fixed-term and part-time opportunities across BBC NI News.

Job Introduction
BBC News Northern Ireland provides breaking news, analysis, features and debate, with digital at its heart. We’re looking for Senior Journalists who can help drive content with a digital focus.
Main Responsibilities
Senior Journalists will be required to:
* Lead daily production meetings and assign tasks.
* Commission output and deploy resources cost-effectively.
* Motivate teams to think creatively and respond quickly to breaking news.
* Contribute to the production of original journalism.
* Provide forward planning and production support.
* Deal with complex legal and editorial issues.
* Influence the news agenda and advise output editors.
* Work mostly at base but on location as required.
* Support junior staff members.
* Support management through a period of change.

You will need:
* Extensive editorial experience and strong news judgement.
* Experience in managing people and good interpersonal skills.
* A strong grasp of editorial and legal issues.
* Resilience and self-motivation.
* A track record in delivering original journalism.
* The ability to write clear and concise copy.
* An understanding of digital audience engagement.
* Knowledge of audience needs and commitment to diversity.
* A sound knowledge of politics and current affairs.
