Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Primary School, Hillingdon (near West Drayton Station)
Start Date: February 2025
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 4:00 pm
Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a fantastic mainstream primary school in Hillingdon, conveniently located near West Drayton station. This is a full-time position with the school seeking a candidate who can commit for the entire academic year. The role is set to start in February 2025, offering a competitive daily rate.
The school is looking for a patient and skilled teaching assistant to provide exceptional 1:1 support to primary-aged students with ADHD and Autism in a classroom setting. Axcis is searching for someone with SEN experience in mainstream schools, particularly working with children who have ADHD and ASD. The ideal candidate will have the ability to set clear boundaries and manage challenging behaviour effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
1. DBS on the Update Service (UPS)
2. Use of PECS or Makaton
3. UK Experience working with children with ADHD and non-verbal Autism in mainstream school settings
4. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
5. Experience with SEMH is highly desirable
6. Kind, patient, and proactive nature with excellent communication skills
7. Ability to build strong, positive relationships with children and staff
8. Full-time commitment, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
