The post-holder will support the delivery of projects across the portfolio of the South West Health and Justice Teamto improve health outcomes for our population. The role will support good governance, ensuring value for money and robust decision making.
Relevant services include healthcare in prisons, sexual assault and abuse services and other healthcare services to people in touch with the criminal justice system. The post-holder will work alongside partners including other NHS bodies, the Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), Public Health and healthcare providers to support good healthcare outcomes and reductions in health inequalities.
The successful applicant will be based in the Bristol office and will be able to travel across the South West region. The postholder will be expected to work in person (in the office or on site) for at least 40% of their working time.
The Health and Justice Team has two vacancies for Project Support Officers, which are being advertised separately. It is envisaged that this role (6774443) will work across the team, including developing governance processes and working on cross-cutting projects. The role will also include specific project support to the Sexual Assault and Abuse Services commissioners in the team. The other role currently being advertised (6716092) will focus on providing support to the prison healthcare commissioners in the team. • Supporting the commissioning of safe, effective and value for money services across the Health and Justice portfolio

The post holder will:
• Support teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
• Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring spends, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management
• Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects.
