This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, privately owned warehousing and distribution business in a key role supporting the day to day running and operations. Reporting to the board, the role will involve all aspects of overseeing the day to day operations of the business which will include working closely with Directors in respect of compliance, insurance, facilities, staff development, company growth and future business, managing customer and supplier relationships, handling business queries and generally supporting the management team.
In addition, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing quality, health & safety, compliance and insurance matters ensuring that the business conforms in all areas of legality. The role will also work closely with HR with regards to staff development, recruitment, performance and training and will actively promote the business and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to further grow and develop the company at every opportunity.
To apply for this exciting role, you should have knowledge or experience of working in the haulage, distribution and warehousing sector, ideally with a CPC. You should also be experienced in working at management level with a good understanding of the day to day operations and legal and administrative requirements of a busy 24/7 Transport and warehousing business. IOSH / NEBOSH qualification will also be highly beneficial and together with you should have experience of managing a quality standard such as BRCGS.
