Planning - Shaping Tomorrow's Communities Today
Our Development Management Service is crucial in shaping Wiltshire’s future by determining planning applications for new developments. While some decisions involve subjective judgment, we adhere strictly to legal and procedural guidelines to ensure compliance with legislation and policy. Our service supports the council’s business plan by fostering new development, driving economic growth, and promoting environmental protection and sustainability.
As a Level 2 Planning Officer, you'll have a significant say in planning projects, working with communities and stakeholders to create meaningful new developments. You'll assess different planning applications and appeals, playing a key role in shaping Wiltshire's landscape. You'll handle various planning, waste, and listed building applications, showing you can work well with little supervision.
We’re looking for someone with a degree (or relevant experience), great IT and GIS skills with strong knowledge of planning laws. If you’re a confident communicator, skilled negotiator and problem solver, who thrives in a team, we want to hear from you!
