Warehouse Assistant
Pay Rate: £11.44

Duration: 6 months
Location: Portlethen
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30am - 16:30pm / 30mins lunch
As Warehouse Assistant with our client, your job role will encompass the following responsibilities:
1. Receipt, issuance, location, picking, and despatch of all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System.
2. Use of mechanical handling equipment and hand tools, following processes and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement.
3. Packing all 3rd party and intercompany shipments being distributed from the facility.
4. Assist with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.
5. Physically checking, counting, and packing materials.
6. Operate various storage and transport equipment, i.e., overhead crane.
7. Safe loading and unloading of trucks for shipments that arrive/depart the facility.
8. Comply with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements.
9. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
10. Participate in NOV Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace.
11. Participate in on-call rota as required.
12. Carry out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements.
13. Support the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as required.

Qualifications
Essential:
1. Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent.
Desirable:
1. Technical qualification related to the job role.
2. Basic IT skills with Word/Excel.
3. Use of ERP Systems.
4. Previous experience within a warehouse environment.
Skills, Training, or Special Knowledge
Essential:
1. Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
2. Good communication skills.
Desirable:
1. Practical training on all essential workshop lifting equipment including overhead crane and forklift trucks (training will be provided if required).

1. Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Management System procedures and department/local work instructions.
2. Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Training:
1. Participate in training where required and actively participate in DH Competency System.
