Senior/ Associate Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Associate Structural Engineer to join our client's growing, dynamic engineering consultancy based in Berkhamsted.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to join a close-knit team working on a wide variety of projects. You will be responsible for leading projects, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a diverse range of structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
Develop and deliver innovative, cost-effective structural designs.
Be client-facing, managing key client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
Take responsibility for the technical output of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support their professional development.
Coordinate with other professionals such as architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Oversee project timelines and budgets to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Assist in business development, identifying new opportunities and expanding the firm's portfolio.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE), or working towards chartership.
Proven experience in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects, ideally across a range of sectors (residential, commercial, etc.).
Excellent project management skills with a strong understanding of project delivery, budgets, and timelines.
Strong technical knowledge of structural design and analysis, with proficiency in relevant software.
Ability to work autonomously, but also as part of a team.
Confident and professional client-facing communication skills.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in a consultancy environment.
Knowledge of BIM and other collaborative design tools.
A proactive, solution-driven approach to problem-solving.
