About the Role:
As a Senior Building Engineer at CBRE, you will play a critical role in overseeing the operations of complex building systems, ensuring optimal performance across various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability within our facilities.
This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services team, responsible for delivering comprehensive support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all building equipment and systems.
What You'll Do:
1. Work Order Management: Assign work orders and accurately estimate the time and materials required for repairs while maintaining an inventory of necessary supplies and tools.
2. Advanced Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs on sophisticated mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire safety, and control systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
3. Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and workplace safety.
4. Energy Management Development: Create and implement an energy management program, ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency.
5. Contractor Oversight: Supervise and inspect work performed by outside contractors, addressing inquiries and complaints from clients, co-workers, and supervisors effectively.
6. Preventive Maintenance Leadership: Direct the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems, and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
7. System Inspections: Review and sign off on inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, confirming that equipment operates within design capabilities and meets environmental conditions set forth by the client.
8. Innovative Solutions: Utilize your advanced knowledge to identify and develop new methods for achieving both individual and departmental objectives.

What You'll Need:
1. Educational Background: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of relevant job experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a diploma. Previous shift management or supervisory experience is preferred. Universal CFC certification is required.
2. Additional Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred: HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
3. Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs or more.
4. Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinking mentality to develop methods that go beyond conventional solutions.
5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle unique challenges using both standard and innovative solutions, having a broad impact on the business.
