The Clinical Lead for Endoscopy reports to the Medical Director and works alongside the Director of Operations and Director of Nursing as an advocate for the Group and Subject Matter Expert in all matters relating to the provision of insourced Endoscopy activity.
The Clinical Lead provides leadership to all Consultants within the specialty and is responsible for exacting clinical standards and care provision.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as clinical lead and subject matter expert across Endoscopy insourced services, including advice and input to operational planning of new contracts, to ensure that they are assessed, staffed, implemented, and executed successfully.
2. Promote and advocate for the company within clinical networks and wider, to maximize opportunities for business development, and engagement with existing and potential customers, partners, and clinicians.

Job responsibilities
1. Provide indirect clinical supervision and leadership to specialty Consultants, across all sites and contracts, to ensure that high standards of care are delivered at all times.
2. Support recruitment functions through networking and advocacy on behalf of the company, and be responsible for the interview and approval of all doctor grade clinicians across the specialty.
3. Set and periodically review clinical standards for the specialty, including minimum competency standards, log book data requirements, and specialty-specific updates and CPD requirements.
4. Support the Medical Director and Director of Nursing in management of Clinical Teams, including conduct reviews, incident investigation, disciplinary hearings, and other Clinical Governance processes.
5. Support the Business Development function by identifying and engaging opportunities within networks and wider, and by supporting and advising contract discussions and meetings to develop and implement effective clinical contract delivery structures.
6. Support ongoing excellence in care delivery by leading on audits, review of KPIs, and ongoing maintenance of clinical standards and care delivery.
7. Attend conduct and performance review meetings when required, and in response to incidents and complaints, providing advice and guidance to the Governance function, as to the suitability or otherwise of ongoing engagement with Consultants.
Person Specification
Experience
* Endoscopy Consultant with at least 2 years experience post-CCT.
* Exceptional clinical standards and JAG KPIs, to act as lead clinical for the specialty with credibility among peers.
* Experience of complaint management and governance.
* Experience of networking and business development.
