Whatyou’ll be doing:
1. Conducting Programmable Elements Safety EngineeringActivities, such as PHA, FTA and PSSA/SSA in support of the CombatSystem Design Safety Justification and Whole Boat SafetyCase
Determining the causes of: Systematic ProgrammableElements Safety failures, Common causeanalysis Defining and monitoring Programmable Elements SafetyRequirements and compliance with CASS TOES Organising and contributing to Hazard Identificationworkshops and Safety Committee meetings The integration/acceptance of Commercial off the Shelf(COTS) products Engaging with third parties, such as equipment or systemsuppliers, to review and gather supporting Programmable ElementsSafety evidence in accordance with Def Stan00-055 Reporting the progress of Programmable Elements SafetyEngineering activities at Project and Programmereviews Working within an established Safety Management Systemyou will bring your expertise and experience to makerecommendations for improvements
Your skills andexperiences:
Essential:
2. Demonstrable experience in Programmable Elements SafetyEngineering and activities contributing to the production of FaultTree Analysis (FTA) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) allocationdocuments in order to develop Preliminary system safety assessment(PSSA) System Safety Assessment (SSA)
Able to demonstrate experience in understanding safetyof systems with Programmable Elements in accordance with Def Stan00-055, Def Stan 00-056 Experience in Safety Engineering and ProgrammableElements Safety Requirements in accordance with IEC/BS EN 61508 indefence domain Able to demonstrate competence in rigour of SoftwareDevelopment Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Design Assurance Level(DAL) depending on industry experience
Desirable:
3. Relevant engineering qualification such as BEng/ MEng orequivalent experience
Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer or workingtowards
