Textron GSE is seeking a Service Technician who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of GSE equipment. You will ideally be located within proximity to Heathrow airport, and due to the nature and responsibilities of the role, you will be required to travel. As a Service Technician, you are an ambassador for the Company and have a responsibility to solve any issues the customers encounter.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Carrying out service work for customers at airports and for airlines across Europe;
2. Repairing, maintaining, servicing, and commissioning GSE equipment;
3. Final configuration and testing of vehicles before they are returned to the end customer;
4. Supporting customers and in-house departments, including Engineering and Sales;
5. Providing technical support to customers and in-house colleagues;
6. Travelling to customer sites;
7. Ensuring guidelines and standards of work expected by Textron Sweden are understood and met;
8. Referring follow-up work requirements to the appropriate departments within Textron Sweden;
9. Maintaining a professional approach and manner at all times;
10. Setting a good example to colleagues by observing and obeying all Company rules and regulations;
11. Completing all necessary Company documentation punctually;
12. Attending all training courses and meetings as required;
13. Providing support and co-operation to management and colleagues;
14. Observing and adhering to Company Health and Safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Relevant technical qualification (e.g., in Engineering);
2. Proven 'hands-on' experience in a service/maintenance position;
3. System knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, and the ability to read drawings;
4. Ability to give technical direction and product training;
5. Clean UK driving licence;
6. Willingness to travel, which could include up to 150 days with customers;
7. Experience engaging with customers in a pressurized environment;
8. Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings and diagrams;
9. Ability to document your work;
10. Competent with MS Office and able to use specialist software;
11. Commercial awareness and ability to communicate at all levels regarding technical matters;
12. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure.
