We are currently recruiting a Night Maintenance Supervisor to work at our MRF site in Braunstone Frith, Leicester. You will supervise a team of night engineers to carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance repairs.
The hours are Monday to Friday, 8pm to 5am.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Ensure MRF equipment is maintained, repaired, and replaced to the highest standard, achieving a plant uptime KPI of 95%.
* Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, maintenance support team leaders, and process operators.
* Monitor and inspect all maintenance work in accordance with planned maintenance systems.
* Assist the management team in implementing change, managing performance, identifying training needs, and providing feedback through one-on-one reviews, appraisals, team meetings, and coaching.
* Assist in the control of maintenance and site service sub-contractors, working closely with the operational team to deliver operational targets and drive process improvement.
* Complete risk assessments and work-based method statements to ensure maintenance health and safety standards are legally compliant.
* Maintain open lines of communication with the MRF equipment manufacturer and key MRF suppliers.
* Control site maintenance stock, planning and issuing parts, and monitoring departmental expenditure.
* Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and integrated management systems (ISOs) and environmental standards.
* Ensure the Operations Team is sufficiently supported to meet operational objectives.
* Drive continuous improvement in maintenance tasks, including root cause analysis and identifying defect trends.
* Ensure real assets are maintained to the required standards.
* Monitor staff attendance, lateness, and performance issues, reporting to the Operations Manager.
* Monitor and challenge staff clocking.
* Ensure adherence to operational and noise management plans at all times.
* Conduct investigations in line with disciplinary and health & safety policies.
* Attend and deliver daily team briefings.
* Observe and support the night shifts, ensuring consistency throughout the shifts.
* Maintain housekeeping of defined areas to appropriate GMP/5S and best practice systems.
* Undertake any other duties to meet ongoing needs of the organization in line with training and capabilities.
Essential Criteria
* Level 3 or equivalent in engineering.
* Experience supervising a team in a heavy engineering environment.
* Computer literate.
