We are looking for 2 highly motivated Officers to work in the Technical Support Team in the Neighbourhoods Department of Thanet District Council. As a Technical Support Team member you will work under the direction of the Technical Support Team Manager.
You will be joining a very busy, friendly, supportive and professional team within a forward-thinking and innovative service which is already utilising technology to enhance the service we deliver to our customers. You will need excellent organisational, prioritisation and customer service skills.
The team is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Neighbourhoods services. This includes processing a wide range of licensing applications, inspecting vehicles and premises for licence compliance. Preparing reports and attending committee meetings. Attending site visits with officers, dealing with complaints etc
basic operational understanding of several key neighbourhood service functions.
knowledge of the administrative functions associated with regulatory services.
knowledge of computer systems and Google Suite.
the team currently uses M3 but will be moving to a new system Assure in January 2025
Skills
excellent communication skills - delivering messages clearly so that they cannot be misunderstood.
Good conflict management skills.
Ability to write clear and concise letters, statements and reports
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a busy workload.
Ability to interpret & explain basic legislative requirements
Experience
of handling information/situations in a respectful manner without escalation.
of G-Suite and casework management systems such as Northgate., minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Mathematics and English
Full Drivers License, roadworthy vehicle and business insurance.
Professional qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant Neighbourhoods portfolio subject, e.g. licensing, environmental health, funding, administration
Due to the nature of this role, this post requires a standard DBS check, This will include checks against the adult and/or children's barred lists., Disability Confident
