Job summary
The post holder as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Band 6 in Lymphoedema will assess, plan, implement and evaluate plans of care for patients with Lymphoedema and support the Clinical Team Leader (CTL) in quality improvement and development work.
They will support the community teams in the development of programmes of education and support health professionals to develop and change their own practice in relation to best practice in Lymphoedema and Lower Limb Management.
Those in post as a Band 5, will work under the guidance of the CNS staff and CTL and will be supported to achieve the Key Lymphoedema Worker qualification and progress to undertake training to become a CNS and non-medical prescriber. Upon successful completion of the required training the post holder will progress to the band 6 pay scale.
We have 2 available positions 1 at hours per week and the other at 28 hours per week.

Working with a small yet dynamic specialist team, the post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, evidence based, patient centred service across Pennine Lancashire. This will be achieved following a period of mentorship and clinical supervision. They will work alongside the clinical team leader to deliver education and promote best practice in Lymphoedema management to community and secondary health care professionals.
Ideally the successful candidate will possess a Chronic oedema/Lymphoedema specialist nurse post or possess a prescribing qualification. In absence of these qualifications a developmental position as a band 5 could be offered until completion of relevant qualifications.
The successful candidate will always act professionally and use their knowledge and experience to make evidence-based decisions about care.

1. RGN with current NMC registration.
2. Graduate Diploma in specialist managment of Lymphoedema
3. 12 months community experience
4. Experience of the assessment & management of chronic oedema and leg ulcer management.
5. Palliative care/ EOL care.
6. Tissue Viability Knowledge
7. To have access to a vehicle in working hours with the ability to travel for there requirements of the post (Business insurance required)
8. Post holder required to work across both sites dependent upon clinic requirements/patient flow.

9. V100/150/300 - Required for Band 6. V300 Non-Medical Prescriber - developed within Practice - Band 5 until completion.
