Folkestone Eye Centre is a brand-new outpatient clinic and theatre. We are a small and friendly team that are passionate about delivering great care to the community. As a receptionist and administrator for Folkestone Eye Centre, you will be an important part of the service. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, professional, empathetic, and someone who is an excellent team player.
You will also need excellent organisational and time-management skills. We are in partnership with Newton Place Surgery and 5 ophthalmologists who are on rotation here at Folkestone Eye Centre. We also have a regular dermatology GPSWI's. We offer cataract surgery, general ophthalmology clinic, wet macular degeneration clinics, HCQ clinics, minor operations, general dermatology clinics, and nurse-led biopsy clinics.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring that patients are seen in the right clinic, first time.
2. Contacting patients through the use of multiple media formats.
3. Ensuring clinics are booked as per clinical vetting, in particular AMD.
4. Assisting with stock levels for AMD, including high-cost medications.
5. Assisting the Service Manager with ordering stock and maintaining good stock control.
6. Creating technician rotas for weekend clinics.
7. Assisting the Service Manager with monthly invoices.
8. Covering reception when needed.
The post holder will ensure that all patients are correctly booked and must deal with any enquiries from the patients regarding their appointments. The post holder will need to understand the needs of the service and work with clinicians to understand their needs and profiles, as well as future developments in that specialty.
