Overview
We are looking for an ambitious Art Director with a proven record of creating strong conceptual ideas. We’re looking for someone who spends their time dreaming, making, doing, building, creating. Someone with the intelligence to think, challenge, and push things into unexpected places. We’re looking for someone who can produce work that looks and feels like it’s been crafted by a craftsperson. Someone who is passionate about stepping into the health and wellness space and energised by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through their work.
As an Art Director working for Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, you will join our growing and vibrant Creative department, a team with extremely high standards and ambition, where every job is seen as an opportunity to excel. Partnering with a Copywriter, you will form a creative team that produces outstanding through-the-line communication ideas that change how people see the world. This is a role for someone who thrives on collaboration to craft campaigns that stand out and deliver results, all while maintaining high creative standards in line with Saatchi’s legacy of impactful advertising.
Responsibilities
Ideas
1. Work in partnership with a Copywriter to create innovative, channel-neutral ideas that answer the client's brief.
2. Work with other creatives and designers to develop concepts, design and layout solutions that respond to a variety of client briefs.
3. Be constantly curious - have a keen awareness of what's happening in the world around you.
4. Take your knowledge, insights, ideas and turn them into relevant, engaging, beautifully art directed solutions.
Creative Execution
1. Develop concepts that execute the ideas, and present these both internally and externally until a preferred route is agreed between agency and client.
2. Understand art direction for off and online content, ensuring that any corporate guidelines have been carefully considered and reflected in your recommendations.
3. Translate creative briefs into comprehensive multi-channel design layouts.
4. Work closely with designers and copywriters to devise brand guidelines.
5. Work with the production team to identify and engage with the best external suppliers to execute the work in line with the agreed budget and timeline.
6. Brief external partners to bring your ideas to life, ensuring that the work is flawlessly executed with the highest levels of craft skills, regardless of channel.
7. Direct the execution of the design, supervising the work of creative partners such as illustrators or model makers to understand your creative vision.
8. Experience in using AI for the benefit of the work.
Strategic and Tactical Planning
1. Understand the creative strategy in order to produce appropriate design solutions.
Delivery
1. Collaborate with creative line manager with clear communication to ensure alignment on the creative direction, ensuring the work follows the best possible path.
2. Work with cross-functional agency teams to ensure that work is produced on time and that all delivery deadlines are met.
3. Sign off work at all stages of development, alongside creative director and/or ACDs.
Business Development
1. Work with cross-functional agency teams to develop the creative content of proposals and pitches, ensuring the creative content is aligned with the main directions.
2. Support the creative reputation of Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness by identifying opportunities to showcase work.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience working as an Art Director within the advertising space.
2. Your portfolio will demonstrate exceptional conceptual thinking and immaculate execution, with multiple examples of ideas that communicate effectively in both the digital and traditional spaces.
3. The ability to communicate ideas at a conceptual level through roughs and layouts.
4. A broad knowledge of the various media channels available including but not limited to press advertising, direct marketing, radio, TV and digital.
5. An appreciation of writing for digital media (SEO; delivering a story effectively through digital media, etc.).
6. A good understanding of the internal workings of the agency and the processes of implementation.
7.
