Job overview
Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Bone Marrow transplant wards are recruiting a Housekeeper - Part time.
The successful applicant will work on Fox and Robin ward as part of a team of Housekeepers, providing 7 days cover, 9am-5pm/10am-6pm.
The wards are managed by Ward Sisters, supported by a team of staff nurses who provide care to children, maintaining close links with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including the medical team, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main duties of the job
1. Have knowledge and understanding of the patient environment and its associated required standards.
2. Have knowledge and understanding of how the associated Estates and Facilities (EFM) Services (i.e. Catering, Portering, Linen, Works, Materials Management, Domestic Services) work and provide the individual service to the Ward and how they are accessed.
3. Follow the Trust Infection Control policies and procedures when carrying out all aspects of their role e.g., food safety, hand hygiene, decontamination, infection cleans.
4. Provide excellent communication between the units and Estates and Facilities to ensure effective coordination of support services at unit level.
5. Participate in risk and incident management in line with Trust and local Policies.
6. To have a full understanding of the Trust’s Child Protection Policy and Guidelines and what actions should be taken if you have any concerns.
