A Childrens Social Worker is required to join Solihull’s Looked After Children Service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team. Details The working pattern is Monday to Friday, full-time. We are a large team who work with children looked after from 0 – 18. We take responsibility for children and young people after they have a care plan agreed, which means they need to be Looked After. We work with children and young people with complex care plans, and this can include areas of court work around discharge of care orders. As well as having fantastic skills in engaging children and young people to participate in their care planning, Social Workers in our team also need skills in safeguarding investigations and assessment. We provide robust management support and regular monthly supervision. Additionally, we hold regular team meetings and weekly group check-ins. We ask that social workers are based in the office 40 – 50% of the time, and hybrid working is agreed for the remainder of the week. We also offer support with training and a helpful induction. This post will specifically involve assessments and statements for the safe revocation or care orders.
