About the role
Our client is an award-winning innovative business focused on mechanical engineering looking for an exceptional and self-driven Applications Manager to be an essential part of their commercial transition!
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build client confidence whilst assimilating their needs into tangible costed deliverables. You will produce and control the transition from client enquiry through quotation to successful and compliant implementation.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
1. Adopt pre-vetted enquiries and transition them into a logical, profitable and deliverable system proposition that you present, discuss and hone to meet client needs.
2. Understand and ensure the correct product compliance needs are addressed.
3. Collaborate with internal design and project management, in addition to external clients and collaborators to set, maintain and drive technical excellence and compliance.
4. Formulate cost centres and work breakdown structure, whilst negotiating and liaising with suppliers, carrying these through to the production of fully costed quotations for our industrial B2B client base.
5. Pre-procurement: Help identify COTS parts that are against functional needs, such as pumps, valves, pipework, and heat exchangers.
6. Evaluate client P&ID and site schematics to ascertain optimal location, configuration and system interface points.
Your Skills and Abilities:
1. Master’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or fluid energy.
2. Five years minimum experience in specifying, costing, quoting and delivering fluid power systems, including valves, pumps, pipework, heat exchangers and control equipment.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, comfortable operating in a fast-paced organisation.
4. Familiar with certification and compliance needs relating to pressurised systems.
5. Adaptive, intuitive, self-managing, competent to report to board level.
6. Methodical, excellent, demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
