Children and Young Person's Support Worker
About The Role
Support children and young people with disabilities in the community. You will be required to work flexibly to suit the needs of the family to provide support in the following areas:
1. Personal Care: This can include early mornings to allow children to access school and late evenings to allow young people to access activities that are peer appropriate.
2. Engagement: Attend colleges, work placements, and groups to support one or multiple children/young people to engage in activities.
3. Life Skills Support: Support in the home and in the local community to assist with life skills such as transport, budgeting, and cooking.
4. Collaboration: The role involves liaising with colleagues and families, and you may be working remotely or with a small team.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates should have or be willing to work towards SVQ3 in Social Services and Healthcare and be able to register with SSSC. Candidates will also be required to have a PVG in relation to working with both children and adults, as the service caters for children and young adults.
