GSL Education are seeking a caring and motivated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Romsey. This role offers the chance to work closely with students who face mental health challenges, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning. As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you’ll be instrumental in creating a nurturing environment where students can thrive emotionally and academically. Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students manage mental health challenges and engage in learning. Assist students in developing coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Work with educators and mental health professionals to ensure students receive the appropriate support. Help adapt lessons and materials to meet the needs of students facing mental health challenges. Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and supported in their learning and social interactions as their Mental Health Teaching Assistant. Requirements: Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3, are desirable but not essential. Experience as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is a plus. A genuine passion for supporting children’s mental health and development. Excellent communication and empathy skills. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
