Role: IT Infrastructure Engineer Location: Carlisle / Remote - 2 days onsite / 3 days' work from home Rate: £250 - £300 per day Duration: 6 - 12 months Requirements: Plan, design, and implement on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, and network systems. Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers, including operating systems (Windows, Linux), services like Azure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP along with Cisco UCS and VMware. Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades to infrastructure components, ensuring they are secure, optimized, and up to date with the latest technologies. Ensure infrastructure security by applying best practices, implementing firewalls, antivirus solutions, and patch management, and adhering to compliance standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and trusted 3rd party providers to assess infrastructure requirements and provide scalable solutions. Use monitoring tools to assess system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement measures to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Develop and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to ensure data protection and rapid recovery in case of system failure. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and upgrades to enhance infrastructure capabilities. Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices for reference and training purposes. Good understanding of WAN, SDWAN, FortiGate Firewall/Manager/Analyzer, Wireless Networks (planning/support).
