An opportunity has arisen for an R&D/Production Technician to join our busy Tape Production & Development Department at 56 Nasmyth Road. Reporting to the Tape Production & Development Manager, the successful applicant will play a full role in the development of the R&D function and be hands on within the Tape Production Department.
It is essential candidates are skilled in the use of CAD Software, preferably Auto CAD and have a minimum ONC or equivalent in an electro/mechanical discipline. If you are a team player, have logical thinking, excellent trouble shooting skills, an eye for fine detail and have proven experience working with/on production equipment this position might be the one for you. The role involves:
• the design of carrier tape suitable for the packaging of components in accordance with the relevant EIA/IEC standard
• the utilisation of CAD software as a design tool for the development of necessary tooling
• liaising with internal/external customers on new carrier tape designs
• liaising with our Customer Service Department regarding SEAF's, design, TTRF's
• ensuring all documentation is controlled in accordance with internal processes and procedures
• the completion of SEAF's for components identified to require custom carrier tapes
• being actively involved in the development of new product improvements and solutions
• liaising with our Quality/Engineering Departments on process problems.
• assisting in the maintenance of all equipment within the Tape Production Department
• provide technical assistance to department operators
• assisting in the Installation, test and commissioning of new items of equipment
• assisting in the calibration of all relevant production equipment
• assisting in general facility maintenance
• effective reporting of maintenance as part of a Planned Preventative Maintenance Scheme
• adhering to best health and safety practices at all times
