Project Engineer EC&I (Nuclear) - Competitive Salary - Sizewell, Suffolk
The Role
Do you have a strong background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) services? Are you experienced in managing complex construction operations, while ensuring compliance with HSE and CDM regulations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our growing team as we expand our capabilities in the UK's nuclear industry. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects, focusing on compliance, safety, and optimisation throughout.
This is a challenging but rewarding role, working on some of the most exciting new build nuclear projects in the country.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor delivery of the project, identifying risk and opportunities and working with key stakeholders to optimise project delivery.
2. Assess the 'constructability' of the proposed design and ensure that Design teams produce feasible designs within the required timescales.
3. Lead the delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with all company processes and protocols.
4. Review and approve contractor documents as delegated by Project Manager.
5. Support and develop the supervisory and engineering team, and support project steering groups/cross discipline action groups, as required.
6. Perform up front site surveys including liaising with designers.
7. Proofread and approve drawings.
8. Where appropriate, act as point of contact for site related project issues.
9. Act as Test Team Leader where appropriate.
10. Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
11. Manage the implementation of systems and processes for Right First-Time approach.
12. Overall ownership of Handover Documentation for Section.
13. Input and drive of operational target programs to reflect overall construction program.
14. Liaise with off-site functions for knowledge sharing and best practice.
15. Other assigned duties.

A senior team is required to develop and lead on all aspects critical to a Nuclear Safety driven delivery organisation, establishing complementary systems, processes and procedures with which we will demonstrate and execute compliant safe delivery of Nuclear context works.
The Person
1. Practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role, this being EC&I bias.
2. HNC/HND qualifications in either Electrical or C&I discipline (Advantageous, although not essential).
3. Collaborative working environment experience.
4. Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
5. Substantial experience within H&S Management in an operational setting, including method statements, accident/incident investigation, knowledge of current HSE and CDM legislation and proficiency in the use of H&S Management.
6. Highly numerate, with strong commercial awareness and good technical knowledge.
7. Strong leadership and management skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
8. Strong work ethic.
9. Able to work effectively within a small but growing project team.
10. Strong decision-making ability.
11. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Able to provide expert technical knowledge to support work winning.
