Oakgrove is a successful Special Primary school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). It serves the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. We have recently converted to an academy status and are part of the Four Rivers Family of Schools.
We are looking to appoint a full-time teacher from April 2025.
We are looking for self-motivated and committed teacher who genuinely enjoys the rewards and challenges of working with children. We require a teacher with expertise in creating exciting teaching and learning environments with excellent behaviour management strategies who will be flexible, patient, adaptable and willing to teach children across the primary range from Early Years to Y6.
The successful applicant will have experience of teaching in either a mainstream or other specialist setting, have excellent classroom management skills and be able to support pupils who may present with challenging behaviours. They will be creative with their approach, producing aspirational learning opportunities that motivate and enthuse our children.
Oakgrove School enjoys a close working relationship with the other special schools in the authority in addition to a local mainstream cluster. This allows for excellent CPD opportunities for staff members.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers. Special School experience is welcomed but not essential as is experience of Early Years. Candidates should state particular curriculum strengths, with a specialism being desirable.
Our current priority is curriculum development; the successful candidate would be expected to lead a curriculum area.
The application form and an information pack are available to download from here. Please send completed application forms to: schooadmin@oakgrove-primary.stockport.sch.uk
Closing Date: Friday 7th February 2025 at 12noon
Shortlisting: Friday 7th February 2025
Interviews: Monday 10th February 2025
The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Please note that this is a private organisation and the appointed candidate will be employed by Four Rivers Family of Schools (MAT) directly.
