MS AISE Pricing Actuary (UK) London We’re looking for a qualified or nearly-qualified Pricing Actuary with experience in automated/digital underwriting distribution. As an insurance firm we simply couldn’t function without our highly valued actuaries. Through your in-depth knowledge of maths, statistics and the complexities of our industry you ensure we understand, balance and control risk. This is a role that is at the heart of everything we do. About The Job What you’ll spend your time doing: While there is rarely a ‘typical’ day as a Pricing Actuary, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job: Developing a strong working relationship with Underwriters, the senior management team and Underwriting Management; Managing and/or assisting in the development, maintenance & testing of models acting as the first point of contact for underwriting clients; Analysing the performance of current integrated pricing models and potential portfolio tenders; Acting predominantly as the interface for the AISE UK Digital business with regards to Actuarial Pricing and to support where needed the Digital developments across AISE. Work closely with the rest of the AISE Pricing team and AISE underwriters to ensure consistency of pricing models were possible, and that projects are delivered in a collaborative manner. On a monthly basis: Update mix analyses and rate movement on all e-trade products. Quote conversion analysis on Fleet (when complete) Quarterly, you will: Standard Formula Catastrophe Risk Exercise – providing CAT exposures for Fleet in prescribed template on a quarterly basis. ULR projection on fleet business ahead of quarterly reserving meetings. Performance review of the business, including impact analyses on rating changes made (monitoring is ongoing and happens more often than quarterly) On annual basis you will: Q1 Reinsurance renewal for Fleet – work with underwriter to provide fleet exposure and claims in summary document and questionnaire template provided by reinsurance broker. These include: Actuarially Qualified or Nearly Qualified Experience in automated/digital underwriting distribution Actuarial Pricing Expertise required in the following classes: Fleet, Commercial Package & Agricultural Vehicle To be able to work with data therefore therefore strong technical skills is required i.e SAS (or eventually VBA knowledge or python, VB.Net or SQL) Good working knowledge on programming Experience in London Reinsurance Market underwriting classes and environment Advanced knowledge of Excel Good interpersonal and communication skills Attention to detail, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
