Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Human Resources (HR) Regulatory Affairs oversees HR aspects of regulatory initiatives impacting the firms legal entities in the region, including interpretation and implementation of financial regulations impacting across the employee lifecycle, as well as regulatory submissions, exams and supervisory interactions on HR topics.
As a Vice President within EMEA HR Regulatory Affairs, you will work closely with the rest of the EMEA HR Regulatory teams, including the EMEA Regulatory Compensation team and Global HR Regulatory Affairs team. You will partner closely with the EMEA HR Country Heads and their teams, and other key partners (including local Governance teams, Control Functions and Finance) to drive consistency across the EMEA HR Regulatory agenda.
Job Responsibilities
1. Support EMEA HR in submissions and responses to regulatory queries, examinations and audits.
2. Advise EMEA HR Country teams on HR-related regulatory matters and partner with those teams to support the firms line of business and functions based in the EMEA.
3. Review, assess and project manage implementation of changes to the employee lifecycle required as a result of EMEA regulatory and/or legislative requirements or expectations.
4. Participate in local governance fora representing HR, including Board-level meetings and Committees.
5. Serve as a subject matter expert on the HR regulatory requirements impacting the firms EMEA legal entities, and reviewing, assessing the impact of those requirements on the firms businesses.
6. Prepare responses to, and communicate with, the firms EMEA regulators as part of their supervision of the compliance by the firms local legal entities with applicable regulations.
7. Lead associated projects with HR and/or Control Function partners to enhance, change or implement new policies or procedures to reflect change in regulatory requirements.
8. Partner closely with the wider HR Regulatory and Cash Compensation teams to coordinate assessment and implementation of requirements.
9. Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures.
10. Educate and train the broader HR Function on best practice, policies and external developments, particularly in respect of regulatory change.
11. Develop deep knowledge of the firms organization and operating model, with the ability to build and strengthen partnerships across functions and locations in the EMEA.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Solid technical background in a regulatory field, or from a broader Legal or Compliance background.
2. Knowledge of the key European regulatory frameworks impacting HR.
3. Excellent documentation skills to clearly and accurately articulate key decisions and rationale.
4. Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effectively and comfortably with different levels of seniority, including experience of preparing papers for and presenting to Boards/Committees.
5. Ability to understand and navigate a complex regulatory environment.
6. Excellent writing skills in English.
7. Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders integrating information and clearly articulating impacts and solutions.
8. Self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment.
9. Takes initiative and is proactive in raising issues or identifying opportunities for partnership and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Direct experience working with EMEA regulators.
2. Experience within an HR Regulatory, Legal or Compliance function.
3. Excellent writing skills in German.
