Community and Demographics
Horsham Primary School operates as a dual-campus institution serving grades P-6, with a combined student enrollment of approximately 460. The campuses are located in the northeastern area of Horsham City. The student body is diverse, with a growing number of students from non-English speaking backgrounds and about 11% Koorie students across both campuses.
Educational Programs
The curriculum at Horsham Primary School is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and emphasizes a collaborative learning environment. Staff regularly plan together and engage in professional discussions. The school offers a broad curriculum including specialist programs in Performing Arts, Physical Education, Auslan, Science & Technology, and Art. Intervention programs such as STAP, Levelled Literacy, and Math Intervention support student learning.
Technology
Both campuses are well-equipped with IT resources. iPads are available for all students, with a one-to-one iPad program for Years 4-6. Teachers have iPads, and each classroom is equipped with Apple TVs. The school employs an ICT technician and an IT manager, and all classrooms have television displays with wireless internet and access to the school server.
Selection Criteria

Role
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities
* Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines.
* Supports communication between teachers and parents.
* Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
* Addresses immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure.
* Provides medical intervention support to a student/s, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance.
