Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing the Factory Manager will be responsible for: Managing the factory and ensuring that it produces product in line with the Programme, adhering to quality standards and procedures and SHE policies and procedures. managing the manufacturing yard, despatch and storage of finished products. Managing the maintenance of both the Lisburn facility and plant/equipment. Direct reports are Senior Manufacturing Supervisors, Manufacturing Data Coordinator, operatives and subcontractors Role Description Provide leadership, direction and motivation to manufacturing team to achieve results in line with the Manufacturing strategy Set standards of excellence, which promote 'Zero Harm', operating a safe working environment, assuring Health & Safety and environmental compliance Review and develop existing resources to ensure that objectives are achieved at optimum cost, quality and timeliness following the documented sequence of operations provided by the Manufacturing Engineering planning function. Provide constructive feedback re improvements and/or issues. Review the daily production schedule to ensure optimum utilisation of manpower and key equipment Monitor the performance of all operatives against agreed operating times and address under-performance Identify manufacturing improvements as identified through continuous improvement initiatives Monitor daily throughput and address manufacturing bottlenecks in a proactive manner Highlight resource constraints to Head of Manufacturing as they arise and inform the Manufacturing Engineering Planning function so that appropriate action can be taken. Ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with specified methods Ensure that all products meet the Quality departments requirements adopting a right first time approach. Address all manufacturing-related non-conformances and customer complaints in accordance with procedures set out by the Quality department Provide monthly reporting on performance against KPIs to senior management Day to day management of direct employees and subcontractors to include responsibility for authorisation of holidays and overtime, discipline and grievance, identification of learning and development needs. Manage manufacturing link reviews with staff employees and manufacturing operatives. 0 Daily co-ordination and management of sub-contractors and supply chain Collate, check and approve weekly timesheets and clock cards. Responsible for staff wellbeing and maintenance of high levels of morale within the department Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with SHE Policies and Procedures Work with the wider McAvoy Team to effectively represent and grow the business and contribute to the culture of innovation and continuous improvement Carry out other duties that are consistent with the job holders knowledge and skills to assist the company in achieving its goals and objectives.
