CAD Operator
Location - Southampton
Educational Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D designs based on specifications, sketches, and instructions.
Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and updates in design.
Maintain and organise CAD files, templates, and records.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather design requirement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Prepare technical documentation, including layouts, schematics, and diagrams.
Conduct quality checks to ensure precision and adherence to project requirements.
Support in resolving design and technical issues during the drafting process.
Stay updated with advancements in CAD technology and software.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD drafting or a similar role.
Highways experience essential.
Familiarity with industry-specific CAD standards and procedures.
Diploma or degree in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or similar.
Certification in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other relevant tools is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, MicroStation).
Knowledge of 2D drafting and 3D modelling techniques.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in designs and drawings.
Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings & sketches.
Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers and
project teams.
Problem-solving skills to address challenges.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards in the industry (optional but preferred).
Knowledge of additional design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, BIM tools) is a plus.
