Job Details: Associate Project Accountant / Assistant Project Accountant Job Description Job Summary: To provide foundational project support and reporting service to Project Managers. This role focuses on assisting in tracking, documenting, and reporting project-related finances. The Assistant Project Accountant will help maintain accurate financial records, assist in processing transactions, and learn essential accounting and finance practices. This position typically works under supervision and direction. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Following company coding and documentation standards to update and maintain the Invoicing / Financial Model for the Revenue Collection Contract (RCC) To maintain accuracy and completeness of the Financial Model and supporting documents following established guidelines. To update project trackers on an ongoing basis Follow defined procedures to keep the Project Accountants and Project Manager informed and advised on billings, retentions, debtors and cash flow relating to individual projects To assist with preparation monthly project reports in accordance with the RCC timetable Assist investigations and follow up on any variances which may arise To liaise with financial accounts and commercial teams and ensure that queries are followed up and aligned with defined procedures. To support monthly invoicing resolution meeting with TTL relating to the RCC Invoicing / Financial Model Provide any additional duties/support as required by Senior Project Accountant / Senior Financial Analyst Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System. Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures. Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisation Other duties as requested KEY REQUIREMENTS (Skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience): Qualifications Degree or equivalent in accounting or business-related disciplines Actively studying or aspiring to study for ACCA / CIMA or equivalent Skills: Essential: Advanced Excel skills Ability to manage financial records Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work as a team Ability to use own initiative to drive continuous improvement Desirable: Accounting or project accounting experience Previous experience of SAP Previous experience with Invoicing / Accounts Receivable / Invoice processing or with managing complex spreadsheets Personal Qualities: Highly accurate / attention to detail / analytical skills Ambitious and enthusiastic individual Ability to work to strict deadlines Self-motivated, pro-active, and ability to use initiative.
